Grants

Gateway Chapter grants are only available to our catchment area (Missouri, Kansas City area and Southern Illinois) Gateway Chapter member veterans.

Once Gateway membership has been approved by both the Chapter and the National PVA office, there are many accessibility grants available! These grants include our Accessible Vehicle Grant, Hand Control Grant, Home Accessibility Grant, and Generator Grant.

How it works:

  • The member’s home must reside in the Gateway Chapter’s catchment area for 6 months before receiving any of the Gateway Chapter’s grants. If the potential member is not in the catchment area, the member is required to move into the catchment area within a year of member application.

  • Members must have a Gateway board-approved bid before starting any work, and the vendor will be paid directly after member satisfaction has been confirmed. Photos of work before and after must be submitted to the Chapter by either the member or the vendor. Lien waivers must also be submitted to the Chapter.

  • Once a Gateway membership grant has been approved, the approved grant amount must be completed within twelve (12) months. If a member has not requested vendor payment within those 12 months, a new bid must be submitted to the Board for a new approval.
