Transportation
Whether it’s time for a member’s annual physical, they need to shop for groceries, or want to attend a family cookout, Gateway PVA is here to help.
We provide free transportation for members who live within a 50-mile radius of the Gateway office to local VA medical centers for treatments and appointments, and to various other activities. These include opportunities for recreation and socialization, such as sporting events and monthly luncheons at the Jefferson Barracks VAMC spinal cord unit, as well as personal errands.
Our transportation program, overseen by the president and executive director, features an ADA-compliant bus that can accommodate seven wheelchair-users and four additional passengers in seats. We employ two part-time drivers, who are available every weekday and are Red Cross-certified.
In accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Gateway PVA Transportation Program operates without regard to race, color, or national origin. The program also adheres to the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its services, programs, activities, or employment practices.
To learn more about our anti-discrimination policies or if you believe that we have violated them and would like to file a complaint under Title VI or the ADA, please follow this link.
Passengers with disabilities may request modifications to current procedures to access the service. To make a request, please call 314-427-0393 or email info@gatewaypva.org. Please submit requests at least one day before the trip.
